7 Days Sunday Departures
1st Day - Sunday Lima / Iquitos Flight to Iquitos and transfer to board the riverboat, Rio Amazonas, just in time for lunch. Get your first real glimpse of life along the world’s most mysterious river from the South American version of the“African Queen.” (B/L/D)
2nd Day - Monday Cruise the Amazon River Early-morning bird watching followed by a visit to an Indian village to see natives at work – and play. Next stop is Pevas, the oldest Peruvian town on the Amazon River. In the afterno a naturalist leads us down winding trails through the dense, teeming rainforests of the Shishita River area. (B/L/D)
3rd Day - Tuesday - Cruise the Amazon River Jungle expedition in search of the rare, giant Victoria Regia water lilies. Afternoon visit the missionary village at Lake Caballococha, one of the Amazon’s first outposts of western man. (B/L/D)
4th Day - Wednesday - Cruise the Amazon River Today, do something you can’t do on any cruise anywhere else in the world – travel to three countries in one day. Early arrival at the “Tres Fronteras”, (Three Frontiers) the border shared by Peru, Colombia and Brazil. (B/L/D)
5th Day - Thursday - Cruise the Amazon RiverThe morning flies by along with rare species of birds on our launch trip up the Ataquari River to fish like the natives, with cane poles in the lake. Perhaps you’ll get lucky and catch lunch from the launch. Night cruise on the Mayaruna River to look for the caiman and rare nocturnal species. (B/L/D)
6th Day - Friday - Cruise the Amazon River Continue up the Ampiyacu River to visit Indian villages to attend an exotic native dance performance. And a chance to buy local handicrafts made before your eyes. (B/L/D)
7th Day - Saturday - Iquito / Lima / USA Early morning arrival in Iquitos for your flight to Lima and your connecting flight to the U.S. (B )

Posada Amazonas – Tambopata Research Center "Jungle Journey"
5 Days Daily Departures
1st Day - Puerto Maldonado - Posada Amazonas Arrival and transfer to the Tambopata river port in Puerto Maldonado. Brief visit of the town and depart to Infierno road, followed by 30 minutes boat journey by motorized canoe to Posada Amazonas. The lodge owned jointly by Rainforest Expeditions and the Local Community of Infierno. Afternoon visit to the canopy tower, 15 minutes walking from the lodge. (L/D)
2nd Day - Posada Amazonas – Tambopata Research Center Boat ride and short will walk take us to the lake shore for a long, easy canoe ride to look for giant river otters, turtles, hoatzin, and wading birds. Continue to travel up the Tambopata River for 3 to 4 hours into the pristine heart of the reserve. Arrive at Tambopata Research Center in the early afternoon. (B/L/D)
3rd Day - Tambopata Research Center At dawn we will cross the river and enjoy the world's largest macaw clay lick where hundreds of parrots and macaws of up to 15 species congregate daily. Then we will hike the 1.5 mile Ocelot Trail, a trail which exemplifies the quintessential rainforest estimated to be 200 to 300 years old and includes truly huge Ceiba trees and Strangler figs. 4th Day - Tambopata Research Center - Posada Amazonas Take a short five minute boat ride to a small, drying oxbow lake where we will spend the morning on a platform in the middle of the pond observing some of its birdlife. Return to TRC and embark to Posada Amazonas, arriving at mid afternoon. (B/L/D)
5th Day - Posada Amazonas – Puerto Maldonado After an early breakfast we will return to Puerto Maldonado for our flight back to Lima. (B )
